This game is from the second round of my most recent OTB tournament. My opponent played some unusual moves in the opening and soon lost an exchange after which I didn't have a lot of problems while converting the game.
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 6.f3 e5 7.Nb3 Be6 8.Bg5?!
Black to play
I have never seen this move and during the game I figured out that the bishop is often misplaced on g5 since it is hanging in many lines.
8...Be7 9.Qd2 Nbd7 10.O-O-O b5 11.f4?
11.h4 (This is more thematic than the game move and is just better) 11...b4 12.Nd5 Bxd5 13.exd5 a5
Black to play
11...b4?!
11...Rc8 12.f5 Bxb3 13.axb3 Qa5 14.Kb1 b4 15.Nd5 Nxd5 16.exd5 Bxg5 17.Qxg5 O-O 18.Bc4 f6 (Black is better)
12.Na4?!
12.Nd5 Nxd5 13.exd5 Bxg5 14.fxg5 Bf5 15.Qxb4 Qxg5+ 16.Kb1 The position is roughly equal
12...Nxe4
White to play
13.Qxb4?!
13.Bxe7 Qxe7 (13...Nxd2 14.Bxd8 Nxb3+ 15.axb3 Rxd8 16.Rxd6 I looked and this and thought that white should be fine and black's pawns are a bit weak) 14.Qe2 d5 This was my intention during the game and black has a clear advantage
13...Nf2-+
Now black wins an exchange and has a big advantage. I managed to convert this position without much trouble.
