Tactics from a young Carlsen - 1

I have read Simen Agdestein's book How Magnus Carlsen Became the Youngest Chess Grandmaster in the World and really enjoyed it. There were many games by Carlsen on his road to getting the grandmaster title and was surprised that Carlsen often sacrificed material for activity and played very aggressivly. After seeing many entertaining tactics I thought that I should share them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

1. Carlsen-Gabrielsen, 2003
White to play

2. Olsson-Carlsen, 2003
Black to play

3. Carlsen-Harestad, 2003
White to play

4. Carlsen-Danner, 2003
White to play

5. Jeremic-Carlsen, 2003
White to play

6. Carlsen-Gretarsson, 2003
White to play

Solutions

1. Carlsen-Gabrielsen, 2003
White to play

1.Rxd5!
Black cannot take the rook because of 1...cxd5 2.Qxb5+ and white's queen and two bishops will mate the black king.

2. Olsson-Carlsen, 2003
Black to play

1...Nxd4!
Black can take the pawn, but black has to calculate some important lines to make this work.
(1) 2.Bxd4 Rxc4! 3.Rxc4 Bb5 4.Kg1 Bxc4 5.Nd5 Rxd5 6.exd5 Qxd5 (2) 2.Kg1 Bb5! 3.Bxb5 (3.Bd5 Rxc1 4.Qxc1 Qb6) Rxc1! 4.Qxc1 Qxb5

3. Carlsen-Harestad, 2003
White to play

Carlsen has sacrificed a knight for the attack and now has a nice finish available.
1.Qxg5+! fxg5 2.Rf7+ Kxh6 3.Rxh7#

4. Carlsen-Danner, 2003
White to play

White wants to drive the black bishop away from the defence of d6, but this has to be calculated precisely since black can create counter threats.
1.a3! Nb6!
Black attacks the white bishop on c4 and the capture comes with an attack on the queen.
2.axb4! Nxc4 3.Nd6+!
This had to be seen in advance.
3...Kd7 (3...Nxd6 4.Qxe7) 4.Qxe7+ Kxe7 5.Nxf5 gxf5
And white is up the exchange

5. Jeremic-Carlsen, 2003
White to play

1.Rxb8! Qxb8 2.e5!
White wins a piece

6. Carlsen-Gretarsson, 2003
White to play

1.Qh5+ Kf8
If black steps onto the e-file, white will win the queen with Bh7+. Black also cannot block the check: 1...Rg6 2.Bxg6+ Qxg6 3.Re7+! Kxe7 4.Qxg6
2.Qc5+ Kf7 (2...Re7 3.Bf5! Qf7 4.Bxd7) 3.Bg6+! Rxg6 4.Qe7#
